Glo-Ball Basic 1
Designed by Jasper Morrison, 1998
Table lamp emitting diffused light. Features a diffuser made of externally acid-etched, hand-blown, flashed opaline glass with a die-cast aluminium, alodine-plated threaded ring nut. Base in 30% fibreglass-reinforced, injection-moulded polyamide. Diffuser support in painted, die-cast aluminium. Equipped with an electronic dimmer on the power cable for 0–100% light adjustment.
The original design in the Glo-Ball series, Glo-Ball Basic was created by English designer Jasper Morrison to capture the quiet radiance of a full moon and the otherworldly magic of the night. With its soft, spherical form, Glo-Ball Basic maximises the diffusion of light, casting an even, ambient glow. The design aligns with Morrison’s Super Normal philosophy of creating understated yet refined forms to enhance everyday spaces. Glo-Ball is part of the permanent collection at MoMA.
