A graphic language of light

In the heart of Rome’s Piazza Campo Marzio, Warehouse of Architecture and Research has crafted a contemporary newsroom for the headquarters of Il Foglio inside Palazzo Nari. The project balances modern functionality with deep historical resonance, enhancing the building’s layered identity while preserving its architectural dignity.

In the central office areas, String Light becomes the defining visual rhythm. Its graphic lines trace purposeful paths across the space, delivering precise illumination while maintaining full reversibility, an essential requirement for integrating new infrastructure within the palace’s sensitive historic fabric.

Across the rooms, String Light continues to shape a cohesive lighting language, complemented by Fort Knox Wall fixtures. Their warm indirect reflections subtly highlight the polychrome ceilings, enhancing their depth and texture without overwhelming the original architecture.

The 265 Chromatica introduces a bold chromatic gesture within the newsroom. Its sculptural arm and vibrant tones create a dynamic counterpoint to the restored architectural elements, offering flexible directional light that supports the fluid, collaborative nature of contemporary editorial work.

In the hallway, Parentesi extends the lighting scheme into the building’s transitional spaces. Suspended between floor and ceiling, its adjustable spotlights punctuate the vertical cable with points of light, creating a striking yet minimal intervention within the historic context.
