In Belgium's oldest city, the Town Hall of Tongeren is an excellent example of 18th-century civic architecture. Recently restored, it now balances heritage and contemporary function, supported by a lighting concept that casts a new lens on the architecture while respecting its historic character.

Fenestra precisely outlines the window frames, highlighting the façade after dusk. Calibrated to complement the ambient illumination of the Grote Markt, it creates a subtle yet striking nocturnal view of the building. Along the entrance stairs, Mile luminaires provide integrated step lighting that ensures safety while remaining discreet.
Within the entrance hall, the linear structure of Coordinates generates a generous luminous volume while allowing the historic interior to remain central. Indirect light from Fort Knox Wall softly washes walls and vaults with controlled visual comfort.

In the multifunctional reception hall, three bespoke luminous panels create a skylight effect. Integrated daylight control automatically adjusts to natural conditions, preserving balanced lighting throughout the day. Zero Track offers flexible spotlight positioning with a minimal architectural profile to illuminate the artworks.

In the smaller meeting room, three-phase tracks with UT Spot DALI enable varied lighting scenarios to suit different events. Throughout the building, concealed Light Shadow luminaires provide precise, anti-glare illumination in transitional spaces.
