The idea for Céramique came when I was working on huge complex systems and I felt like something was missing. Lighting design is moving very rapidly towards intelligent technical systems but I wanted a beautiful lamp. An interesting object that produces a simple light and fulfils a simple need like illuminating your bedside or a table. Something that is well made and gives pleasure.
Testifying to the novelty of its material through its name, Céramique is an entirely handcrafted collection featuring a lead-free crystalline lacquered finish. The collection colours—Moss Green, Navy Blue, and Rust Red—enhance the smooth surfaces, highlighting the quality of the material.

The design starts with the basic composition of a lamp—base, stem, and cap—interpreted across three table lamps that share the same design but with subtle variations in orientation. Each configuration gently suggests a specific type of lighting. The downward-facing lamp is ideal for reading or use as a table lamp, the side-oriented version is designed to illuminate a corner, and the uplighter creates perfect ambient lighting.

Ceramics have been a key focus of the designer’s creative journey over the past few years as his personal design explorations have ventured into the abstract. Using ceramics as a pictorial medium, the material has become the subject of a series of bas-reliefs and vases that are as much expressive compositions as they are functional vessels.
