Born in Venice, Gino Sarfatti drew inspiration from the traditional Venetian chandelier for 2097, a minimalist design as modern today as when conceived in 1958. Stripped to its essence, the only decorative element is the exposed wiring. Sarfatti transformed function into ornament by embracing technology rather than concealing it. Originally produced by Arteluce, 2097 embodies his vision of lighting as both an essential function and a bold architectural statement.
