For the first time, the Italian Pavilion has been interpreted by curators as an opportunity to implement new projects and a potential catalyst of concrete action for the benefit of local territories and communities. The concept therefore going beyond the idea that an exhibition should be limited to an ‘installation’ alone. Spaziale. Everyone Belongs to Everyone Else is inspired by a vision of architecture as a multidisciplinary research practice that extends beyond architectural artefacts themselves and of design as the result of collective collaboration that surpasses the idea of the architect-creator. An inclusive project that involves renowned figures and local communities, showcasing the very best research carried out by architects or groups under the age of 40 in relation to urgent issues in nine specific Italian territories.

For the lighting of the first Tesa, a completely empty space in which huge projections help visitors understand the content of the exhibition, Flos chose a poetic and sophisticated ambient lighting scheme that uses various modules of Luce Orizzontale, the splendid modular glass suspension lamp designed by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec. Characterised by an extraordinary blend of craftsmanship and technology, these create a poetic contrast between the elegance of the moulded glass and the industrial character of the surrounding space.

For the second Tesa, where the nine projects are featured, Flos opted for a high-impact effect on visitors, choosing the innovative Camera projector programme, designed by Knud Holscher, in black.

The special Camera 60 Super Spot offers an extremely effective result in creating specific focus on the different exhibits. The advanced technological features of this model, in which a 9° silicone lens is combined with an avant-garde anti-glare system, guarantees an extremely clean beam, as well as unparalleled visual comfort. In this specific project, light is calibrated through an integrated potentiometer.
