Cascata d’Otro Mountain Village is a peaceful group of apartment buildings nestled at the foot of Monte Rosa in northern Italy. Designed by Italian studio G22, the architecture reflects the contours of the surrounding peaks, with volumes arranged around a small lake to create an alpine community atmosphere. The result is a welcoming retreat in perfect harmony with its natural setting.

The scenery alone is breathtaking, but the village also required a functional lighting scheme that would illuminate pathways while enhancing the beauty of the landscape. The iconic and instantly recognisable Bellhop proved an ideal choice. Used in both Pole and Bollard versions, it offers practical lighting with a charming sense of character.

Discreetly mounted on the building façades, Mile Wall by Antonio Citterio, designed to offer optimum performance in minimal dimensions, and the ultra-compact Heavy Metal by Flos Outdoor blend seamlessly into the scenery. Points of light that quietly connect and define the village.

In the middle of it all lies a small lake, where clear, still waters reveal the stones below. This central space needed its own lighting solution. Enter Aimer Aqua by Flos Outdoor, explicitly designed for aquatic settings. Echoing the circular form of the lake, Aqua casts light across the water to illuminate the very heart of this mountain community.
