Suspension lamp emitting diffused light. Chemically photo-etched stainless-steel body with liquid paint protection and borosilicate glass diffuser. Die-cast aluminium base with a 30% fibreglass-reinforced polyamide ceiling rose, mounted to a pressed and galvanised steel ceiling fixture. Light emission is adjustable via a mechanical movement that opens or closes the louvres, altering the shape of the luminaire. Steel suspension cable.
Created by Patricia Urquiola, Chasen transforms lighting into a kinetic experience. Inspired by the traditional Japanese tea whisk from which it takes its name, the lamp’s shade can be mechanically adjusted by opening or closing its filaments. This movement alters both the lamp's shape and how the light is diffused, creating a dynamic interplay between form and atmosphere. Sculptural and interactive, Chasen reflects Urquiola’s instinct for innovation and her desire to reinvent the everyday.
