Floor lamp emitting diffused light. External diffuser in polycarbonate. Internal diffuser in injection-moulded opal polycarbonate. Base and support in painted steel.

Part of the Tatou family, which takes its name from the French word for armadillo, a nod to the animal’s protective yet flexible structure. Patricia Urquiola drew inspiration from Japanese armour and the exploration of membrane construction techniques to play with the filtration of light. The result is a poetic pattern of perforated shells that filter and shape the light. Designed to stir emotion through both form and function, Tatou is a contemporary take on protection and softness.
